NORDIC STYLE CHRISTMAS DÉCOR

Is it Christmas already? Wow, where has the year gone? As always, I am probably the last one to put my tree up, get a handle on the Christmas shopping and above all get festive. You would expect more from an interior designer, right? I promise I am very organised when it comes to working on my client’s projects!

This year, I have been really inspired by Nordic-style festive décor. This style certainly brings peace and serenity to your homes, especially when preparing for the festive season can get on top of us.

The use of less is more keeps things calm and simple, while the neutral colour palettes create a warm, welcoming and comfortable space. Whether you’re hosting a New Year’s Eve party or just getting cosy with the family, this Scandinavian-style decor is effortless to carry off and feels fresh throughout the festive period.

Take a look at my mood board for some of my favourite picks (clockwise):

  1. LED Advent Calendar – I know we are already past the 1st of December but I love this piece! Fill the cute little numbered drawers with personalised gifts and treat your little ones or even your loved ones.

  2. Hammered Tree Skirt – Dress those Christmas trees to the max! Don’t forget to add a tree skirt to hide those unsightly tree legs. Tree skirts add a touch of glamour and a beautiful backdrop to those presents under the tree.

  3. LED Deer – Turn down the lights and relax with this delightful reindeer decoration. Bring warmth and ambience to your room with its subtle integrated lights.

  4. Bronze Baubles – Looking for unique baubles? These fluted, ridged baubles add texture and pattern with their marbled design.

  5. Antique Gold Metal Mistletoe Bundle – Self-explanatory let’s get smooching this Christmas! Mistletoe always brings traditional charm and fun to any display.

Go even further with Nordic style and bring in natural colours such as muted greys, icy blues, off-whites and toned-down golds to create a stunning yet subtle feel. Add traditional motifs such as hearts, candles and stars. Finish off with foliage or a bushy Christmas tree to really bring the Nordic outdoors indoors!
